Two InsiderAdvantage / Majority Opinion Research polls find that an equal number of Democratic voters are pleased and not pleased with President Obama and his administration. Those that are pleased view the President as performing as they expected, while those that are not pleased more often say he is performing with a more liberal philosophy than they expected, compared to those who say he is performing too conservatively. From the other side of the aisle, Mike Huckabee is thought to be best articulating opposing views, according to Republican voters.

Performing exactly as I expected: 42%
Performing with a more liberal philosophy than I expected and I’m not pleased: 28%
Performing with a more conservative philosophy than I expected and I’m not pleased: 16%
No opinion: 14%
Q. [AMONG REPUBLICAN VOTERS] Which individual do you believe currently best articulates the opposing view to the Democratic Congress and President Obama?
Mike Huckabee: 21%
Sarah Palin: 15%
Newt Gingrich: 14%
Mitt Romney: 11%
Bobby Jindal: 3%
Other: 10%
No opinion: 26%
The polls of 560 Democrat voters and 658 registered Republican voters were conducted on August 10, 2009 and weighted by age, race, and gender. The polls have maximum sampling errors of +/- 4%.
