An InsiderAdvantage / Majority Opinion Research poll of Atlanta residents finds that Atlanta residents approve the city purchasing land for a new reservoir, but consider crime/public safety and taxes to be significantly more important issues in the upcoming election for City Council, City Council President and Mayor.

Are you aware that a federal judge has ruled that Georgia and Atlanta Have no legal right to continue to use water from Lake Lanier to supply drinking and other water to residences and businesses in Atlanta and the rest of Georgia and has given a timed limit after which the area will no longer be able to gain water from Lake Lanier?

Last Friday a major Atlanta news organization reported that a private entity is seeking to buy some 2,000 acres of a total tract of 10,000 acres owned by the City of Atlanta in Dawson County, north of the city in order to build a reservoir which could supply a significant amount of drinking and other water to Atlanta and the metro area in place of the water supplied by Lake Lanier. What would be your opinion of a sale of this property by the City of Atlanta to create such a reservoir?
