Majority of Georgians Displeased With Legislature's Performance This Year

(5/3/07)
An InsiderAdvantage/ Majority Opinion survey provided first to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Tuesday afternoon indicates that a majority of Georgians disapprove of the job performance of both the Georgia House of Representatives and the Georgia Senate. In both instances, Republican respondents were more critical of the Legislature than Democrats, but among both Republicans and Democrats there was greater disapproval than approval.

The crux of the problem could be found in a question asking voters, “Are you specifically aware of any benefits that may have come from the Senate, House, or governor’s supplemental budget?” Only 24 percent said they were aware of any specific benefit, while an overwhelming 64 percent said they were unaware. The rest were undecided or did not know.
