Florida Democrats Opposed To DNC Ruling On Primary

An InsiderAdvantage / Majority Opinion Research survey of Florida Democratic voters this week shows that over half know that the Democratic National Committee intends to penalize the state and award no delegates based on the results of the January 29 Florida presidential primary. It also shows that 53 percent of Florida’s Democratic voters disapprove of the way theiir party’s primary is being relegated to a “beauty contest.”

The January 29 date was imposed by the Republican-dominated Florida state legislature.

Significantly, 22 percent of Democrats responding to the poll said they would switch registered party allegiance and vote in the Republican primary if the DNC holds to their position.

Many analysts and perhaps even the DNC remain unaware that the Florida legislature also has placed a significant property-tax amendment on the ballot for both primaries January 29.

The poll was conducted among 502 registered Florida Democratic voters on Monday, August 27 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent. It was weighted for age, race and gender
