Nearly Eight Out of Ten Say Nardelli Package Excessive

(1/8/07)
An InsiderAdvantage / Majority Opinion Research statewide telephone survey of 300 adults conducted January 5-7 weighted for age, race, gender, and political affiliation indicates a widespread belief that the $200 million plus compensation package to be paid to departing Home Depot CEO Robert "Bob" Nardelli is excessive.

Q. What is your opinion of the compensation paid to departing Home depot CEO Robert "Bob" Nardelli?

Believe it's excessive: 79%
Believe it's not excessive: 9%
Don't Know/Undecided: 12%

Analysis: The most amazing part of this survey is that most Georgians have formed an opinion. The opinion that Nardelli's compensation package is excessive is high among every demographic group and among both Republicans and Democrats. Clearly Home Depot's board has a major task ahead of itself in "remodeling" the company's image with the public.
